Sometimes with vehicle wraps, the less said, the better. That probably applies doubly to restaurants and other food purveyors; doesn’t an outsized depiction of a mouth-watering sandwich affirm that a picture is worth 1,000 words?

DiPascal’s, a Pennsauken, NJ eatery known for its cheesesteaks and other hearty grub, had previously hired Arizona Designs (Maple Shade, NJ) to partially wrap a van with the tagline, “Got Lunch?” The customer loved the positive response, and stepped it up for their next campaign. They wanted the image of a super-sized hoagie, laden with meat and fresh mozzarella cheese. Arizona Designs owner Jeff Chudoff developed the concept with his staff and the customer. The shop’s design team photographed the hoagie, and perfected the graphics with Adobe Photoshop and SA Intl.’s FlexiSign Pro. Chudoff based the wrap’s measurement on a Pro Vehicle Outlines template.

The shop produced the approximately 200-sq.-ft. wrap on the Roland VersaCamm XC-540 with Avery’s MPI 1005 EZ Apply RS vinyl. Avery’s high-conformability, gloss-finish DOL 1460 overlaminate protects the wrap. Arizona Designs installed the wrap with Geek Wraps felt squeegeees and variable-temperature heat guns. The sides and back doors were installed as one piece, and the front panel was installed with a horizontal seam.

“An air-release tool must be used to pop bubbles, not the tip of an Olfa knife,” Chudoff stated.
