AC-driven LED Light Source

Seoul Semiconductor (Seoul, Korea) is announcing the Ecolight version of Acriche, an AC-driven semiconductor lighting source, which features 80-lm/W brightness, which approximates conventional DC LEDs, according to the company.

Acriche can be driven directly from the AC power outlets without an AC/DC converter or additional circuits. The light source recently received the CE Marking and German TUV certification. Because conventional LED products operate with DC power, consumers required a converter to use LED products with AC outlets. The Acriche technology integrates multiple, light-emitting cells onto one die.
