Agfa Graphics(Mortsel, Belgium; Ridgefield Park, NJ) has unveiled its second generation, :M-Press TIGER for the screenprint market. It marries Agfa’s inkjet technology with a Thieme Screen Printing base, to gain, the manufacturer says, a 300% productivity increase and higher quality output.
The Tiger’s 64, Agfa UPH2 dual-color piezo printheads, plus Thieme’s media shuttle, page-wide printing arrays and auto-head positioning and tuning, allow the machine to produce 770 sq. ft./hr., including up- and off-loading time. The systems optional, inline, traditional pre- or post-screen printing stations can deliver primer and varnish, as well as fluorescent, spot and metallic inks.
The Tiger applies Agfa Graphics :Anuvia UV-cure inks; its shuttles are compatible with all current :M-Press installations, thus, the M-series owners may upgrade an :M-Press to include the Thieme screen-printing base. Call (201) 440 2500 or visit www.agfa.com
