Agfa Roll-to-Roll Printer

Agfa Roll-to-Roll Printer
Agfa Graphics (Mortsel, Belgium) is introducing its :Jeti 3348 HSS 10.6-ft.-wide, four-color, 300-dpi, roll-to-roll printer that integrates the company’s TurbTech drying technology which marries conventional mesh back-heaters with a front-drying system. The high-speed printer features a backlit option that allows double-sided printing for backlit signage. The system comprises custom software, a camera and a backlit option that tracks the print and compensates on the fly for perfect registration.
A mesh-capable, collector trough allows the use of porous materials to produce scaffold and building wraps as well as such applications as perimeter fencing and stadium graphics that are susceptible to wind conditions.
Other features include 2,500 sq. ft./hr. production speed and a vacuum plate under the imaging zone, to stabilize lighter substrates.
Agfa has also announced its addition of grayscale technology and faster production modes to its :M-Press Tiger digital press. The addition of Agfa’s latest UPH 2 (universal printhead) grayscale technology enables the :M-Press Tiger to print with variable drop sizes as small as 10 pl, which will deliver sharp images and finer detail with fewer passes. The upgrade also allows the :M-Press Tiger to output up to 13,640 sq.ft./hr.
