AkzoNobel White Washprimer

AkzoNobel (Norcross, GA) has debuted Grip-Gard White Washprimer Light Enhancing, a chrome-free, one-component, self-etching primer for metal surfaces. It is suitable for most substrates, particularly aluminum, steel and galvanized steel, and requires only one coat. It features long-term adhesion, corrosion-resistance properties, easy sprayability and etch-free application, according to the company. AkzoNobel says the white color offers light-enhancing capabilities that are ideal for the inside of sign cabinets using LED lighting, eliminating the need for a separate white topcoat. It can be directly topcoated with Grip-Gard Plus or Grip-Gard BC Basecoat and does not require a hardener.
