Allen Event Center to Feature Daktronics Displays

Daktronics Inc. (Brookings, SD) will design, manufacture and install custom video, scoring and sound equipment for the Allen (TX) Event Center.

Inside the arena, patrons will be greeted by two, end-wall displays that feature Daktronics 10mm LED video-display technology. These 12 x 16-ft. displays can present live and recorded video images, animation and graphics with wide-angle visibility.

Along the arena’s fascia, more than 890 linear ft. of full-color, digital LED display will be installed. Daktronics digital ribbon displays offer complete flexibility. When not showing graphics, animation, stats or out-of-town game scores, advertisers are highlighted with a wide variety of visuals and messages.

A new, custom sound system, combined with Daktronics scoreboard and video-display options, will deliver entertainment through the integration of audio, video and scoring technologies.

Daktronics will also be providing custom LED scoreboards, hockey goal lights, LED locker-room clocks and LED game-timers/shot clocks.

A 9 x 15-ft. marquee display, featuring Daktronics HD-12 LED video display technology, will welcome fans to the center and advertise upcoming events at the facility.

In July 2008, construction of the Allen Event Center began along the southeast corner of US 75 and Stacy Rd. inside the Village at Allen shopping district. Upon its completion in late 2009, the venue will total 188,000 sq. ft. with capacity for 8,600 seats (6,225 hockey), 26 suites and two ice rinks. The project is among the first in the Collin County area that marks a joint venture between Global Entertainment Corp., the MG Herring Group and the city of Allen. The center will serve as home to concerts, tradeshows, professional sporting events, festivals, community ceremonies and a Central Hockey League franchise.
