The American Sign Museum (ASM; Cincinnati) has announced it will be a participant in the 2023 Blue Star Museums program, which begins Armed Forces Day, May 20, and runs through Labor Day, Sept. 4. Active military members along with up to five of their family members will receive free admission to the ASM during the run of the program, according to a press release from the museum.
The 2023 Blue Star Museum program is a collaboration among the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense and museums across the country. The Blue Star program strives to support military families by connecting them with their neighborhoods. The ASM welcomed 751 visitors through the program last year.
“The American Sign Museum celebrates American history and ingenuity, both of which are the result of the sacrifices military families make in service of the country. The museum is honored to be a part of this year’s program to offer thanks for that service,” ASM Director Cindy Kearns is quoted in the release.
Families wishing to participate will need to present a valid military ID when purchasing tickets at the museum’s admissions desk between May 20 and Sept. 4.
