Anger Meets Paintbrush

The saying states, “Never discuss politics and religion.” In the South, football also looms as a hot-button topic (although most Southeastern Conference fans relish a heated argument). One rabid University of Georgia (UGA) fan in Wrightsville, GA, expressed his disgust with the Bulldogs’ coaching staff by painting this billboard on the side of this ramshackle building. Presumably, he’s referring to Willie Martinez, the defensive coordinator who leads a unit that’s surrendered more than 30 points per game this season (although offensive coordinator Mike Bobo’s playcalling has also drawn fans’ ire). Ironically, Wrightsville was the childhood home of Herschel Walker, the former Bulldog tailback and 1982 Heisman Trophy winner who’s  the most celebrated player in UGA history. Incidentally, UGA is my alma mater.
