AXYZ Tailored Router Solutions, a part of AXYZ Automation Group (Burlington, ON, Canada), has released the Innovator CNC router. This entry-level machine replaces the legacy Z-Series model.

Available in two standard sizes (4 x 4 ft. and 5 x 8 ft.), the Innovator has a gantry clearance of 6 in. and can cut aluminum, plastics and hardwoods. Per AXYZ, popular industries and benefits include:

  • Educational institutions – a new curriculum option is offered for basic CNC training
  • Sign and graphics shops – easily processes 2D/3D signs in woods, metals, and plastics
  • Prototyping shops – takes the guesswork out of projects with simple prototyping jobs
  • Woodworking shops – versatile enough to fabricate all types of wood for furniture, shop fitting, scenery production and more

The Innovator also has the following new features, per AXYZ: a heavy-duty frame with cast gantry legs for added rigidity; integrated servo motors, which replace stepper servos for smoother motion and higher speeds; premium helical racks that present a new level of cut quality; and is designed to be more easily upgradable for option installations in the future.
