AZ Pro Signs Produces a Smart Vehicle Wrap with Dummies

The U.S. Dept. of Transportation’s 1980s public-service, car-safety campaign, which featured crash-test dummies and the slogan, “You Can Learn A Lot from a Dummy,” proved effective. This Phoenix-area, collision-repair center decided to spin that concept into a vehicle-wrap campaign, and hired AZ Pro Group (Avondale, AZ) to complete the job for the customer’s 10 Ford Escapes.

Jason Prenovost, the shop’s president, said, “The idea was to create a wrap that gave the car an appearance of a stripped-down frame, the way a car would look in a body shop. The frames look like test vehicles where crash-test dummies are used, so they added some fun to the design.”

AZ Pro Group produced the wrap on its Roland SolJet Pro III XJ-740 printer with eco-solvent inks with 3M Controltac IJ180c-10 with Comply v3 air-release media. To depict the dummy’s faces on the Escape’s windows, the shop used Clear Focus Imaging’s JetVue™ perforated, see-through media. 3M’s 8518 glossy topcoat protects the car’s body.
