Blair Acquires ImagePoint Assets

Blair Companies (Altoona, PA) has acquired ImagePoint’s major manufacturing assets and hired its Facilities Rebranding Team. ImagePoint, previously the world’s largest provider of electric signage and project-management solutions, began liquidation proceedings in January 2009.

In March, Blair established an architectural-imaging business unit in Knoxville, TN to support its new operations and acquired a 70,000-sq.-ft. composites plant in Greeneville. Also, Blair moved engineers, field crews and most of the equipment from ImagePoint’s 375,000-sq.-ft. factory in Florence, KY to Altoona. Key strategic alliances have been established with vendors in South Carolina, Tennessee, Missouri and Asia.

The composites operation, which remains in Greeneville, manufactures materials and image products such as translucent fiberglass and structural construction elements for industrial clients, quick-serve restaurants and automotive clients.

Blair provides global, multi-site clients with architectural imaging; signage; interior fixtures and millwork; lighting and logistics. Services include project management, design, engineering, installation and maintenance.

Established in 1959, Blair is headquartered in Altoona, PA, with offices, in Philadelphia, Knoxville, Greeneville, Chicago, Tampa, Gillette, Dallas and Los Angeles. Blair operates throughout North, Central and South America. Blair’s Sign-Fixture-Logistics group is part of the Blair Companies group of businesses. Blair’s Image, Development and Venture groups comprise 21 businesses spanning various industries that collectively employ more than 1,700 associates with more than $400 million in revenue.
