Blair Composites Obtains ISO 9001 Certification

Blair Companies (Altoona, PA) announced that its Blair Composites LLC division (Greeneville, TN), has obtained ISO 9001 certification.
Philip Devorris, Blair Companies’ president, said, “Blair Composites is a key partner in our image business, as well as a composite manufacturer for leading companies in other industries, including aviation, automotive, DOD, boating, nuclear and wind turbine. This certification is crucial as we continue to expand into these markets.”
Blair Composites, located in a 70,000-sq.-ft. factory, fabricates a wide variety of composites, some incorporating steel, electrical components and translucent materials. The company specializes in open-mold spray-up; compression molding; open-mold, hand lay-up; resin transfer molding; and filament winding.
Together with Blair Companies, they offer comprehensive services for the image spectrum, including architectural imaging, signage, interior fixtures, millwork, lighting, logistics, design services, project management, engineering, installation and maintenance.
Brack Alford, VP of Blair’s Tennessee operations, said, “Working with Blair Companies has allowed us to significantly expand our business model, adding the depth and experience to upgrade our documentation and processes to enable this certification.”
Blair Companies, based in a 270,000-sq.-ft., 25-acre factory complex, comprises five business divisions – Signs, Fixtures, Logistics, Architectural Imaging and Composites. They are vertically integrated to focus on high-service, low-cost image and construction program management.
Additional program-management and engineering offices are located in Knoxville, Philadelphia, Tampa, Birmingham, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Blair operates throughout North, Central and South America, and, through its Global Signware Alliance, manages image programs worldwide.
