Blanchett Neon Celebrates 70th Anniversary

Blanchett Neon (Edmonton, AB, Canada), a full-service company that specializes in illuminated business signage, is celebrating 70 years of business. The company was founded in 1947 when George Blanchett, working for his father’s company, Blanchett Decorators, formed Blanchett Decorators: Neon & Sign Division. The two operations were incorporated separately later that year, with George’s brother, Ted, running the decorating side. Today, Blanchett Neon has 44 full-time employees; is headed by George’s grandson, Daryl; and designs, drafts, installs and manufactures signage in western Canada.
