Clear the Clutter on “National Clean Off Your Desk Day,” Plus 3 More Dates to Mark in January

9 Several organizations came together to create National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day in 2015 to thank officers across the country for all the daily sacrifices they make for their communities.

10 On JANUARY 10, and the second Monday of every January, it’s National Clean Off Your Desk Day. Take everything off your desk, give it a good wipe-down, blow the dust off your computer, then carefully consider whether or not the rest of the stuff should go back on or in your desk.

19 Get poppin’ on JANUARY 19 for National Popcorn Day. Started in 2014, this day recognizes that Americans consume 13 billion quarts of popcorn a year, more than any other country in the world, so fire up the office microwave!

23 is National Handwriting Day, established by the Writing Instrument Manufacturers Association in 1977 to promote the consumption of pens, pencils and writing paper, but it’s become a good reason just to practice your penmanship. After all, not many of us do much handwriting anymore!
