Clearing the Pipes

When the International Assn. of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO) outgrew its headquarters, the group wanted a cutting-edge interior but also a new image. Set in the midst of cattle country in Ontario, the association wanted to make customers feel as if they were walking into a posh, Los Angeles office to impart confidence in the organization.
A key element in its former office was a map, displayed behind the reception desk, that outlined all of its offices worldwide. IAPMO decided to transform the map into a 3 x 2-ft. digital video wall. The organization turned to San Diego-based Fluid Sound and NEC Display Solutions for crisp, impactful graphics that would use a series of 46-in. NEC X461UN monitors to create a digital map that could be updated at anytime
