Coffelt Sign Co. Wins Business of the Year Award

A Kansas sign company is being honored for staying true to a longtime mantra.

Coffelt Sign Company (Emporia, KS) was named 2022 Business of the Year by the Emporia Area Chamber and Visitors Bureau, The Emporia Gazette reports.

The company was founded in 1949 by Laurence Coffelt, who later hired his cousin Nelson, the article explains. In 1961, Laurence sold the shop to Nelson, who was a stickler for not “cutting corners” and adopted a shop motto: “Pay Attention to the Details.”

When Nelson died in 2005, his daughter Staci and her husband Rick became the owners.

“It is a great satisfaction to know that 73 years later, the business is still thriving, expanding and operating with the same morals as always: ‘Paying Attention to the Details,’” Rick and Staci told the outlet.
