Colex (Paramus, NJ) is introducing its Colex flatbed CNC cutter/router. The system implements EskoArtwork’s i-cut pre-production software, and its multi-tool head that includes a router spindle with a top speed of 35,000rpm, fixed and oscillating knives, creasing tools, a vacuum table and dust-removal attachment. The machine’s x and y axes operate with a servo motor on gear-rack rails, and the z axis combines a servo motor with a ball-screw drive. The company states operators can produce clean-edge pieces of Gatorfoam® foamboard or wood up to 1 in. thick, or cut flexible canvas or vinyl.

Colex offers 4 x 8- and 5 x 10-ft. router/cutter models.
