Daktronics (Brookings, SD) has installed new integrated scoring and display systems at several college-football stadiums nationwide.
The recently completed renovation of the University of Alabama’s Bryant-Denny Stadium included the addition of four new Daktronics HD-X corner end-zone videoboards and two new digital ribbonboards. Each of the four new video displays measures approximately 21 x 52 ft., providing fans in the now 101,000+ capacity stadium with great views of the action.
At Indiana University’s Memorial Stadium, more than 52,000 fans will enjoy live action and video replays on a 36 x 90-ft., high-definition screen.
Lamar University begins its program anew after a 20-year hiatus. The new, 48 x 88-ft. Daktronics board features a large LED video display positioned in the middle of the configuration.
Adams State College in Alamosa, Colo., is another school ready to kick off the season with a new integrated system in a newly renovated facility. Adams State chose Daktronics to design and build a system that incorporates a traditional scoreboard, LED video display and Sportsound® sound system. “The fan experience at the new stadium will be completely enhanced by this new system,” said Athletic Director Larry Mortensen. “Both the college football team and area high school teams will appreciate and enjoy the facility.”
Football fans at these colleges and universities will experience new Daktronics football systems this season: Adams State College, Clemson University, Fayetteville State University, Lamar University, Marshall University, Monmouth College, Southern Methodist University, Southern Utah University, St. Norbert College, Texas A&M University, Texas Tech University, University of Alabama, University of Kansas, University of Louisville, University of Richmond, Virginia Tech and Western Carolina University.
Many of this year’s systems incorporate Daktronics HD-X LED video display technology, which provides wide viewing angles, improved contrast and the ability to show vivid images in up to 4.4 trillion colors.
