Roland ASD (ASD), Lake Forest, CA, is offering Stika, the company's newest-generation, desktop designer cutters. The system also includes Roland ASD's CutStudio software — which, according to the company, can reduce, reposition, rotate and tile bitmap, JPG and EPS files, among other formats — and a USB connection. The system allows users to simultaneously tile up to 16 designs and contour cut printed images, and provides a sheet-adjust lever. The system is available in 8-, 12- and 15-in. widths.

Roland ASD is also debuting its GX Pro Series vinyl cutters, which offer updated Roland CutStudio design software, and an optical-registration system for cutting pre-printed graphics. The system uses a servomotor that achieves a 33 in./sec., maximum cutting speed and 350g downforce of blade pressure.

The software supports JPG, BMP, AI and EPS files, and Roland ASD bundles a Windows® printer driver and plugins for several versions of Adobe® Illustrator® for PC and Mac, as well as CorelDRAW® for Windows. Roland ASD offers 36-, 46- and 54-in. models.
