EFI Reggiani Upgrades BOLT Digital Textile Printer

Electronics for Imaging Inc. (EFI; Fremont, CA) has made hardware and software enhancements to its BOLT digital textile printer that the company says will minimize artifacts and enhance uniformity.

Per EFI, the upgrade will yield better quality and smoother gradients, while also enabling faster printhead replacement and increasing file processing speed by up to 200 percent for large, complex files.

The enhanced features and resulting benefits, according to the company, include:

  • Nozzle out and uniformity compensation features that improve solid color appearance and enhance overall printing quality;
  • Integration of a new digital camera that provides for consistent print results while shortening the time for print head replacement and alignment;
  • An enhanced user interface – based on EFI Fiery Command WorkStation – that is easier to use; and
  • Fiery Smart Ink Estimator, which helps determine job profitability based on an accurate calculation of ink costs prior to printing.
