Fastsigns Intl. Inc. (Carrollton, TX), in celebration of Earth Day, has partnered with CBL & Associates Properties Inc. (headquartered in Chattanooga, TN), and 50 of its shopping malls located across the country, to encourage shoppers to donate shoes to Soles4Souls, an international shoe charity.
The franchisor donated POP materials, including more than 650 posters and window clings, to participating CBL malls nationwide to help promote the shoe drive. During this month-long campaign, each participating mall will area set up an area with a shoe collection bin where shoppers can drop off their gently worn shoes.
“This project encourages people to donate their unwanted shoes to help those in need — including the more than 300 million children worldwide who are without shoes — and to do so in conjunction with Earth Day,” said Catherine Monson, Fastsigns’ CEO. “Many of our centers are organizing their own local shoe drives to help CBL in their efforts; we want to do everything we can.”
CBL is hoping to collect 150,000 pairs of shoes, all of which will go directly to Soles4Souls. Donations are currently being taken at participating CBL malls and at designated retail shoe locations until the campaign ends on Earth Day, April 22, 2010.
