Fujifilm’s Acuity HS UV Flatbed Printer

FUJIFILM Sericol USA Inc., (Kansas City, KS) has introduced its Acuity Advance HS wide-format, UV-cure, flatbed printer that offers photographic-quality imaging at production speeds of 430 sq. ft./hr. or, in Express mode, at 700 sq. ft./hr.

The Acuity Advance HS (high-speed) is a true flatbed printer that provides precise registration and edge-to-edge printing. Combined with its proprietary flatbed system, the roll-media option (which allows imaging onto numerous, flexible materials) offers numerous media choices for signmakers, POP display providers, offset printers and commercial photo labs.

Fujifilm Sericol said the Advance HS series’ increased print speed results in performance previously found on much more expensive printers. It will image both rigid and flexible images that, the company said, hold up at the closest viewing.

It features Fujifilm’s edition of ColorGATE production server and ONYX production-House workflow software.

The HS’s print performance is optimized by Fujifilm Sericol’s Uvijet CMYK plus white inks, which provides wide-range adhesion, vibrancy and durability; and its Uvijet Micro-V dispersion technology. The machine features proprietary, piezoelectric, UV-cure, inkjet printheads that supply 6 to 30 picoliter, variable-dot, grayscale-imaging technology.

The Acuity HS comes equipped with a white ink module that allows utilization of white ink as part of the image, or as an under- or over-print application layer. White can also be printed in-line (up to three distinct layers), which allows greater flexibility in the application of white within a job.

Maximum flatbed print size is 49.2 x 98.8 in.; maximum roll media print width is 86.2 in.; the roll option will print media measuring from 36 in. to 86.6 in. wide; the maximum roll and core diameter is, respectively, 9.45 in. and 3 in.
Maximum roll weight is 110 lbs.
