Gemini Inc. (Cannon Falls, MN), a manufacturer of various, dimensional-letter types, is announcing that the company has earned a patent for its “zero-discharge” water-reclamation process. The process, which reportedly releases no particles into local water tables, enacts a closed-loop system that captures water used by waterjets that cut metal pieces. The system recycles the water, filters out suspended solids and returns the water to the machine. The system uses five weir tanks that boost the system’s sediment-settling efficiency. The minimized turbulence allows the system to handle continuous-flow operations more efficiently than standard tanks.
In addition to helping the company conserve water, the process saves the company thousands of dollars annually, Gemini reports.
