Gerber’s CAT UV Flatbed

Gerber Scientific Products (South Windsor, CT) has announced the Gerber CAT UV, the newest member of its Solara ion™ UV printer line. The printer features Gerber’s patent-pending Cold Fire Cure ™ technology to apply Gerber CAT™ inks (CMYK) that provide high-adhesion and scratch-resistant printing on various substrates. Gerber said it produces no ozone or VOCs.
The economically-priced and environmentally-friendly printer will image on heat sensitive materials. Further, it features sharp accuracy and an elevated color gamut; its registration system supports double strike and two-sided printing.
The Gerber CAT UV images at 635 x 720 and 1058 x 720-dpi; the maximum print width is 64 in. for rigid media and 63 in. for flexible media; and it will print on media that measures up to 1-in. thick.
When set at its bi-directional, production mode, the CAT UV will print a full-table, 4 x 8 ft. board in 13 minutes; it’s high quality, uni-directional mode requires 74 minutes.
To ease installation, Gerber engineers designed the CAT UV top fit through doors up to 36 in. wide.
