GestureTek Launches Turnkey, Portable, Interactive Display System

GestureTek Inc. (Sunnyvale, CA), a developer of gesture-controlled, interactive-display solutions, has launched the Cube, a portable, plug-and-play, interactive, projection display unit. The Cube, which is pre-configured and pre-calibrated, includes more than 70 games, special effects, and video and sound applications; Flash applications are also available. Simply roll the 23 x 18 x 16-in. box in, turn it on and enjoy interactive, multimedia graphics.
The box, which weighs 60 lbs., comes with a 4 x 5-ft. mat, onto which an 80-in. diagonal display is projected. As multimedia content is displayed on an interactive floor, users can control and manipulate the content by stepping on the projection.
GestureTek’s video, gesture-control software monitors users’ movements. Armed with a projector, camera and other hardware (including a Quad Core computer, portable multimedia projector with an ultra-short throw lens, four USB connections, an Ethernet connection and a mini audio jack), the system detects motion and responds with changes to the projected content.
Adaptable to both floors and walls, the Cube is suitable for tradeshows and travelling events, as well as retail chains, hospitality locations and advertising rollouts.
