Global Lighting Technologies (GLT), Brecksville, OH, a developer of LED-based display backlights, is introducing a range of LED-based, edgelit illumination solutions to expand its offerings beyond LCDs, keyboards and keypads and into areas of egress lighting and general illumination. The products utilize high-efficiency LEDs that focus light into a high-performance backlight, or light guide. The LEDs’ location on the edge of the light guide improves optical control for color and uniformity, and requires fewer LEDs, the company states.
