Sign Contest

Here Are the Winners of the 2022 Sign Contest

GEAR UP TO CELEBRATE. The annual Sign Contest is back, showcasing innovation and offering inspiration from signshops around the world. Signs of the Times is thrilled to honor our judges’ selections for the top signs of the past 12 months in the following pages.

For the 2022 competition, our editors received nearly 150 individual sign entries from 58 companies internationally — proving that signshops continue to sell, design and create outstanding projects amidst inflation, labor shortages and other market challenges.

While last year sign companies and design firms were producing fewer pandemic-related products, this year such work was virtually non-existent. As in-person experiences from education to retail to hospitality have bounced back, the industry has been increasingly able to return to what it does best: making signs. The result is a highly creative crop of projects that push the boundaries of ingenuity with fresh looks, innovative materials, standout lighting solutions and more.

We’d like to thank our expert judging panel, who reviewed the photos from all 147 entries across five categories: Dan Yoder, owner, Sign Art Studio (Mount Horeb, WI); Earl Walker, president, Image360 Tucker (Tucker, GA); Mark Andreasson, president, Design Communications Ltd. (DCL, Avon, MA); Sarp Ertuğ, business development, Ertuğ Group (Gebze, Kocaeli, Turkey); Shokouh Shafiei, president and CEO, DSA Signage (Carson, CA); and William Dickson, director of new business development, Fisher Design (Cincinnati).

This year’s six judges awarded “Best of Show” honors to “Sprocket” by Imagination Corp. in Chilliwack, BC, Canada. Congratulations to their team and the rest of this year’s winners, and our sincerest thanks to everyone who took time out of their busy schedules to enter the 2022 Sign Contest.
