Once upon a time, banners were primarily considered temporary signage solutions. However, today’s retailers and special-events facilities display their custom soft signs for several months up to several years.

Not surprisingly, to complement their much-deserved, long-term-application status, banners have become more visually sophisticated, depicting sharp imagery and bright colors, as well as more durable to withstand environmental conditions. Furthermore, contemporary banners — whether their designs are sewn, screenprinted, vinyl-cut, digitally imaged, etc. — comprise a variety of vinyl and fabric substrates, including canvas, scrim, paper, nylon, polyester, polyethylene and other specialty materials.

The soft signs featured here exemplify that banner designers and fabricators encounter endless creative opportunities due to numerous material choices and fabrication techniques.
