ID SIgnsystems (Rochester, NY) is introducing Solisport, a solar-powered bollard designed for use with exterior architectural signage. The bollard remains lowly illuminated throughout the night, but a sensor will fully illuminate it when approached by a vehicle, bicycle or a pedestrian. Its solar-collection area can produce up to 20W of power, which will produce a 64-lux light level, the company reports. An individual bollard can produce 0.5W on an overcast day, and up to 4.1W on a bright, sunny day. On a full charge, it will function for an estimated 10 days without any additional sunshine.
