Ilford (Avon, CT) is announcing a pair of Omnijet inkjet-printable media. Omnijet Trans, an alternative to backlit, silver-halide material, is compatible with all wide-format, aqueous-ink printers and, according to the company, offers excellent image quality and is easily adaptable to modern, backlit-display devices. Ilford also offer the Omnijet NanoSolvent printable layer, which can be dried and printed quickly on solvent and eco-solvent printers. It can be applied to numerous PVC-free substrates, such as clear or translucent films, self-adhesive media or banner materials. The NanoSolvent material is Forest Stewardship Council-certified.
Both are scheduled for release in the first half of 2013.
