In Memoriam: Kermit Boudreaux, Universal Sign Co.

Kermit Boudreaux, founder and former president of Universal Sign Co. (Scott, LA) passed away on September 23, 2016, at the age of 82. Boudreaux devoted more than four decades to the sign industry and served as president of the Mid-South Sign Association (MSSA) from 1983-1984. His son, Dewey Boudreaux, worked with him for many years as the firm’s sales manager and also served as a past president of MSSA from 1995-1997. Though Universal Sign Company was subsequently sold, it continues to operate at the same location under the management of its current owner, Chad Cole.

Boudreaux was a lifelong camping enthusiast who also was active in the Louisiana’s Lafayette community and as a long-standing member and officer of the local chapter of the Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Eva Boudreaux; his son, Dewey, and his wife, Mylenda, of Lafayette; his daughters, Karen Guidry (Chad) of Scott, Kathy Monroe of Scott and Andrea Primeaux (Larry) of Lafayette. Kermit also is survived by his brother, Bobray Boudreaux (Susan), along with seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
