Keet Tool Metal Shears

Kett Tool (Cincinnati) is offering its KD-440 double-cut shears, which are designed to conserve materials and cut costs. The shears deliver precision cuts in cold rolled (C.R.) mild steel, stainless steel and aluminum without warping or bending the original material or the finished piece, the company reports.
The shears’ dual blades reportedly transfer any distortion produced in cutting to a small 7/32-in. waste strip, to leave the sheet cool and free of burn, chips and burrs to allow maximum use of sheet material.
The shears use a 5-amp pistol grip; a variable-speed, 2,500-RPM motor that allows cutting through 14-gauge C.R. mild steel, most grades of stainless to 16 gauge, and aluminum to 0.125 in. thick. With cutting speeds at more than 150 in./minute, the shears leaves a clean, flat sheet, ready to fabricate, according to the company. The 5-lb., maneuverable shears will follow a scribed line, and are capable of cutting a radius as small as 7 in. All shear heads are precision made in the U.S. featuring A2 tool steel blades for prolonged durability.
