Late Show with David Letterman Marquee Sign Removed

On May 20, David Letterman ended his 22-year run as host of CBS’ Late Night With David Letterman, as well as his 30-plus year career as late-night talk-show host. In the early-morning hours of May 28, the marquee outside Letterman’s studio at the Ed Sullivan Theater was removed, according to the New York Daily News. As is often the case, the removal of the sign from the marquee at the Ed Sullivan Theater loomed as a symbol of an end of an era.

Soon, the facade will change. According to an article on www.mediaite.com, the facade planned for his Letterman’s replacement, Stephen Colbert, whose show will begin airing on September 8, will be a technological wonder. The project cost of the sign will be $500,000 to $750,000, and will feature  "all sorts of digital bells and whistles", the story states.
