Lincoln Electric Virtual Reality Software Update

Lincoln Electric (Cleveland) is releasing an update to its VRTEX™360 software, a virtual-reality welding training program. The upgrade’s improvements include expanded welding consumables, a theory function that defines elements within the virtual environment, and an AWS E6013 stick electrode. This new electrode allows welding students to train on electrodes used for sheetmetal applications up to 3/8 in. Students and other software users can observe welders in various virtual environments, including military zones, scaffolding and high-rise buildings. As with any virtual-reality environment, the software is attuned to user input and responds in real time.
