Mactac (Stow, OH) has announced that it has joined the newly founded CELAB (Circular Economy for Labels) global consortium as “leading member.” The new organization advocates for recycling in the self-adhesive label industry.
Per a release, CELAB is a collection of 30-plus companies in the self-adhesive label industry that strive to “create greater circularity for industry products by enhancing and promoting matrix and release liner recycling around the world.”
Mactac’s Kevin Clunie, sales and marketing director for the Performance Adhesives Group, is spearheading CELAB’s Recycler Network Workstream, one of several workstreams pushing for change by identifying and creating better access to a hierarchy of recycling options for customers in the pressure-sensitive label industry,” again, per the release. “This coalition is designed to create a powerful, positive impact on environmental sustainability in the self-adhesive label industry on a global level,” Clunie said.
Mactac’s parent company, LINTEC, is also a member of the organization within the CELAB-Europe regional branch. For more information on CELAB, visit celabglobal.org.
