Matthews Paint Co. (Delaware, OH) is introducing its MAP® LV ultra-low, volatile organic compound (VOC) paint. The coating’s formulation delivers less than 50g/liter of VOC in standard, solid-color applications. According to the company, the paint also offers better durability, 25% better gloss retention and hiding than standard, acrylic-polyurethane paint. All existing Matthews formulas will be available for the MAP LV paints, and the mix ratio will remain the same as other Matthews products: three parts mixed color, one part catalyst and one part spray reducer. The coatings may be air- or force-dried, and may be applied with brushes or rollers without additional additives.
