On July 10, visitors to the Cedar Point (Sandusky, OH) amusement park noticed the words “Cedar Point” were removed from the sign outside the park’s main entrance. The missing copy quickly became a guessing game on social media, according to a report by nearby Cleveland NBC affiliate WKYC.

Some theorized that the removal of the letters was because of Cedar Point’s merger with Six Flags, but that has not been proven not to be the case.

“Your enthusiasm for our Main Gate sign refresh has been noted! But no surprises here – fresh paint, updated typeface and 3D version of this logo is on the way to replace it,” Tony Clark, spokesperson, posted to his personal X account, as quoted in the article.
