NEC Display Solutions of America (Itasca, IL), a provider of commercial LCD display and projector solutions, announced its S Series, featuring the addition of the 40-in. S401 and 46-in. S461 LCD displays. Having replaced the M Series, the S Series is ideal for customers with digital signage and entertainment applications that operate extensively, particularly in such environments as airports, hospitality, boardrooms and public areas.
The HD displays offer DisplayPort and Ethernet connections for added flexibility, an ambient light sensor for optimum brightness based on existing lighting conditions and more than 30 built-in advanced features in its Enhanced Digital Signage Technology Suite. The displays boast a contrast ratio of 4,000:1, an increase from its predecessors, while maintaining the same level of power consumption. The S401 and S461 can be tiled in a video-wall matrix up to 10 x 10 (100 displays).
The V Series debuts with the 32-in. V321, a value-driven LCD display, which is suitable for applications that require commercial-grade technology on a limited budget, such as restaurants, corporate lobbies and conference rooms. The V321 features a text ticker, which can be dedicated to emergency warnings or breaking news. While the primary, scheduled content is displayed, the secondary ticker displays secondary information on a lower portion of the screen. The quick-input change allows faster switching between sources. The display supports video walls that contain up to 25 displays, in a 5 x 5 configuration, using TileMatrixT.
