NEC Display Solutions of America (Itasca, IL) is announcing the worldwide availability of its LED-06AF1 indoor LED module, which is suitable for retail stores, shopping malls and broadcast studios, and its outdoor companion, the LED-15BF1, which is designed for sports arenas, airports and billboards.
The “true pixel” LED modules (each red, green and blue LED forms one, single pixel) reportedly allows better color depth and more accurate images, NEC says, especially with a video processor that offers adaptive de-interlacing, frame rate conversion and low latency processing. Its control software allows for the auto mapping of pixel allocation and auto locating, ensuring each module receives the correct image quadrant.
The LED modules are said to be most suitable for large-capacity venues and large audiences, such as transportation hubs, concert venues, sports facilities and shopping malls.
The indoor and outdoor LED modules will be available this month, and will ship with a three-year limited parts and labor warranty. Both modules will be built-to-order with a 120-day lead time.
