Graphic Solutions Group (Dallas) is offering Orafol USA’s (Black Creek, GA) 8500 translucent, PVC film, which is designed for decorating illuminated signfaces on acrylic, glass or translucent banner material. The silk-matte finish for the media provides a uniform appeared and inhibits undesired reflection, the company reports. The 80-micron material is back with silicone on one side, and has release properties that minimizes waste and features a polyacrylate, solvent adhesive conducive to long-term signage. The material is compatible with thermal-transfer printing and cutting-plotter applications. The materials blank, white and standard-color rolls (custom colors are available) are designed for seven-year installation, and the metallic material is rated for five-year applications.
