Orbus Wins Silver for Most Environmentally Responsible Company of the Year

Orbus Visual Communications (Woodridge, IL) announced that it has been awarded a 2023 Best in Biz award for Most Environmentally Responsible Company of the year – Silver, according to a press release from the company.

This is the fourth year that Orbus has received a Best in Biz award. Submissions are judged by diverse members of the press who have researched and covered countless successful companies. Companies are judged on accomplishments from the past year and their dedication to continuous improvement, and judges are impressed with winning companies’ breadth of innovation, employing new technologies, employee inclusion, as well as critical investments in environmental and corporate social responsibility programs — per the press release.

This award recognizes Orbus’ commitment to environmental protection and its recertification to ISO 14001:2015 environmental management policies, which guides the company to take measures to minimize its environmental footprint. Such measures include maintaining a robust recycling program; in 2023 alone, Orbus diverted 80.3% of all waste from the landfill. Over the course of the last decade, Orbus has diverted over 10 million lbs. of waste from landfills.

Orbus’ recycling program divides recyclable waste into multiple categories such as cardboard, paper, aluminum, plastic and more Additionally, each May Orbus employees participate in the annual DuPage River Sweep, joining the community in an effort to remove invasive species from the environment — all according to the press release.

“We are honored to receive this important award,” Joel Reyes, continuous improvement manager for Orbus, is quoted in the release. “We recognize the importance of taking care of our planet and are proud to do our part by implementing environmental focused practices in our business operations.”
