Osram Adds New Colors to TopLED Line

Osram Opto Semiconductors (Sunnyvale, CA) is expanding its TopLEDs Black Series line to include three new colors: blue, green and orange. All five shades offered (including red and yellow) are available in the black LEDs with a 60º beam angle or a new, 30º beam angle. The product works best in variable-message signs, such as electronic road signs or gas-price signs, the company says.

Beam-angle selection depends on road contour; 30º is sufficient for signage placed along straight roads, but a 60º angle may be necessary for curved roads or signs that need to have a wide viewing angle, such as bus-station signs.
