Permlight’s ENBT “Green,” Modular LED Track System

Permlight (Tustin, CA) is releasing the ENBT, an energy-efficient, “green,” modular, LED track system for use in linear lighting for residential, retail and commercial applications. The company says the simple-to-install track system surpasses fluorescent products’ performance (5W/ft.) and lowers energy consumption. Also, the system eliminates bulb breakage and replacement. The ENBT system contains no hazardous materials such as mercury (in compliance with California Title 22 toxic-disposal requirements) and features similar construction to Permlight’s Green Building product of the year, the 6-in. LED downlight.

The ENBT features warm, “halogen white” (3,500 K) LED from Nichia and boasts an efficacy greater than 40 lm/W, which meets California Title 24 efficacy requirements. The ENBT can be installed as is, or be field-cut with a hacksaw. The track measures less than a half-inch high. Track sections can be joined with integral, “poke-in” surface-mount connectors that accept the recommended (not supplied) 18-gauge, solid or stranded wire. The system’s 120VAC line input and 7.5VDC low-voltage output allows cabinet lights to be mounted near the front of the cabinet to supply even lighting.

The product also allows dimming with off-the-shelf 120V electronic, low voltage, three-wire dimmers and modular technology, which facilitates module changes. Available in 16- and 34-in. lengths, the ENBT can be powered by a non-dimmable, plug-in power supply or a dimmable, remote, hardwired version.
