Philips Offers OLED Starter Kit

Philips Solid-State Lighting Solutions is offering lighting designers, architects and creatives an OLED technology “starter kit” that includes an information pack and DVD explaining the technology and outlining future applications. It contains several OLED samples with which to experiment.

Versatile OLEDs vary in color and brightness and can create homogeneous light surfaces in various shapes, patterns, vibrancy and color.

Philips OLEDs will soon become commercially available. The company, which had been developing OLED light sources since 2001, founded a dedicated business center for OLED lighting in Aachen, Germany. Philips will be one of the first companies to make OLED technology commercially available for lighting when it launches its first OLED products and prototypes on the market next year. The products, which will be marketed under the brand name Lumiblade, will include OLED lighting plates of up to 50 sq. centimeters.

Orders can be placed by contacting Kristin Knappstein, business development manager OLED lighting, at kristin.knappstein@philip
