Posters Evoke Classic Art-Deco Look

Identifying trends keeps you current. Dig even deeper, and you can begin the process of moving forward with your own voice, your own “look”.
Coco Chanel once proclaimed that “Simplicity is the keynote of all true elegance”, an opinion echoed decades later by Apple’s Sr. VP of Design, Jony Ive, who said, “True simplicity is derived from so much more than just the absence of clutter and ornamentation. It’s about bringing order to complexity.”
Inspired by the depression-era New Deal’s classic Works Projects Administration (WPA) poster series, these modern interpretations from Print Collection (www.printcollection.com) do just that.
These contemporary designs visually connect with the originals, both in their grandeur and simplicity. The modern font treatments stay true to the source material as well, and have the simplicity of form that recalls the look and feel of “old-school” lithography. The color palette, imagery and message all stay true to the 1930’s prototypes, while being new and different.
This poster series proves designer Chip Kidd’s maxim that simple, direct elements will get the attention of your viewer in a way that a complex image just can’t. These giclée prints can be ordered in sizes ranging from 8 x 10 in. to 36 x 46 in.
