PRINTING United Alliance Announces Bill Pope As Vice President, Technical Services

PRINTING United Alliance (Fairfax, VA) announced the appointment of industry veteran Bill Pope to vice president, technical services. Pope joins the association’s technology and research team, where he will work with the newly-merged team at Idealliance, oversee the Alliance’s consulting services and awards programs, and lead Alliance educational initiatives, including the Continuous Improvement Conference and Technical Association of the Graphic Arts (TAGA).

An alumnus of Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT)’s printing program, Pope also serves in an advisory role to the department of graphic media science and technology at RIT as the director of industry relations and academic programs, and assists as an adjunct faculty member. Pope also helps lead RIT’s Industry Advisory Board.

“I am excited for the opportunity to join PRINTING United Alliance at such a pivotal time to help make a significant impact on the industry,” said Pope. “My personal mission is to use my collective knowledge and experiences from various roles to leverage the widespread resources and services from the Alliance to identify training and research efforts to help advance the industry.”

Sara Skaggs is an editorial intern for Signs of the Times, as well as Big Picture and Screen Printing magazines, two of Signs’ sister publications, for spring 2021. Sara is currently majoring in creative writing with certificates in journalism plus copyediting and publishing at the University of Cincinnati.
