Although your drivers may grumble, on-board video systems are valuable to both the driver and shop owners and managers because they can prove fault in accidents and record any vandalism or robbery attempts. Also, the system has a G-force sensor that alerts management of careless driving actions. Most interesting, the Pro-Vision system allows real-time, remote viewing, so in-shop personnel can watch and advise on installations in process.
Pro-Vision®’s on-board video system improves safety, reduces liability, increases security and, in addition, you can remotely view the real-time videos. Titled as a solid-state commercial video recording system, a properly installed Pro-Vision camera array (with a dashboard viewer) will record all activity in and around the vehicle when on the road, at a stop or parked at service location. The company says the system can help prove liability in accident reports, justify additional, truck-related service charges and provide evidence of safe vehicle operation.
Pro-Vision offers 19 choices of high-resolution (720 x 480) cameras (it will record four cameras simultaneously), an event alarm and an erratic-driving sensor. Further, you can transfer files wirelessly, copy files and watch real-time action via Wi-Fi, 3G or 4G connections. An optional GPS system provides an on-board mapping system and, as above, remote place and speed viewing.
