Racy Adult-Club Billboard Mysteriously Disappears

A Jackson, MS billboards that controversially touted a local adult-entertainment establishment has gone missing following threats of legal action by the city’s mayor. The advertisement for Danny’s features a scantily clad woman holding onto a pole and the bawdy tagline, “Strippers love to climb our pole.” The billboards were originally installed in late October to chorus of opposition because of the billboard’s content and one of the board’s close proximity to a school.

Harvey Johnson, Jackson’s mayor, sent a letter to Danny’s management requesting that the sign be removed. The club’s owners had agreed to modify the signs when, on November 1, one of the two billboards disappeared. The club’s reported owners, Blake and Dax Owens, denied taking it down. The Jackson Police Dept. investigated, but no leads have yet surfaced.
