Ray Wissman of Strickler Signs Passes Away at 55

Sign industry veteran Raymond “Ray” Wissman passed away at the age of 55 in Gettysburg, PA on Oct. 26, 2022 after battling cancer.

Wissman dedicated over 28 years to designing landmarks for businesses. During his career with Strickler Signs (New Oxford, PA), he was credited with more than 1,200 sign designs. One of his standout projects was Dockside Willies, which he helped design for the vision of Don Carter, Jr., the well-known Harrisburg, PA restaurant owner.

Wissman is survived by his wife of 18 years K. Rayne (Halloran), his mother and his brother Russell. Family and friends gathered at his home in Fairfield, PA to celebrate his life and works.
