Ricoh Adds EFI Pro 24f Flatbed Printer

Ricoh USA Inc. (Tokyo) announced the latest investment to its Commercial & Industrial Printing Business Group’s portfolio: the EFI Pro 24f LED flatbed printer. This printer makes printing high-value applications, such as lenticulars, photographic backlit displays and irregularly shaped or heavy objects, achievable at a lower cost. It boasts print speeds up to 1,157 sq. ft./hr., 1200 x 1200 dpi image quality and low curing temperatures that enable substrate diversity for higher-margin work.

The EFI Pro 24f leverages variable drop grayscale printhead technology and four colors plus dual channels of white to produce precise, high-quality applications on a wide variety of substrates. A multi-zoned vacuum table holds media of different sizes to the 32-sq.-ft.bed, helping to ensure tight registration and reliably high image quality. Its moving gantry can accommodate substrates up to 2 in. thick, while low-temperature LED curing supports thin substrates that may otherwise melt or distort under typical, high-heat curing processes.

The EFI Pro 24f printer’s “cool cure” LED technology can help users broaden revenue streams, putting less stress on low-cost, low-melting-point and added-value, high-margin media alike. These low temperatures also help drive uptime and productivity, because the device can be powered on or off virtually instantly while consuming less energy than competitive products.
